TEHRAN, YJC. This place used to be called Lake Urmia, one of the most interesting ecosystems in the country. It is still interesting, though, but in a different way that helps you cry your eyes out a bit maybe if you happened to see pictures of its heyday.
Tehran, YJC. As the Urmia Lake has partly dried out, parts of it have started to attract visitors who use them as mud baths. The lake is a tourist area with mineral-rich waters and mud are considered therapeutic, while visitors love the novelty of floating in the brine which does not allow a person to sink.
