TEHRAN, August 23 - Iran’s 26th International hand-woven carpet exhibition began in Tehran on Wednesday.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - 730 Iranian companies working in hand-woven carpet industries are showing their products in the exhibition which closes on August 29.
The exhibition includes various hand-woven carpets in different colors and sizes, including carpets, rugs, kilim, jajim and pictorial carpets.
Several trade delegations from various countries are going to attend the expo to both visit the Iranian carpets and hold talks with sellers.
Iran is after boosting hand-woven carpets, planning to settle problems, removing barriers, paving the way for foreign and local investment, helping entrepreneurship, innovation and creating a positive competition atmosphere among Iranian hand-woven carpet producers.
Iran has exported $89 million carpet to target countries over the first 4 months of Iranian calendar year, (started on March 20, 2017), rising by 7 percent comparing to similar period in the year before, Iran’s Customs Organization data showed.
There are 1.000.000 carpet weavers in Iran.
