Tehran, YJC. The Friday Preacher of Tehran has said that presidential candidates cannot promise relations with the US, since it is not for them to decide.
In
his Friday Prayer speech, Ayatollah Emami Kashani provided comments on current
presidential campaigns and said "The President must act and plan within
sensible frames.”
He
stated that candidates must not interfere with major policies and added that to
say that he will deal with the US in this way and that is none of the
President’s privileges, because article 101 of the constitution lays the
privilege on one who is fit for Leadership.
He
said "The President must delineate his duties at the executive level. They must
see if they are capable of such acts, if not, they may resign.”
Emami
Kashani also pointed to the Islamic awakening and regional developments and
said that the Salafi are neither Shiite nor Sunni, nor even Muslim, but
Zionists in every sense of the word.
