Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Abbas Araqchi called on Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) member states to take into consideration potential of Iran’s Chabahar Port.
Speaking at the IORA summit in Jakarta, he said Chabahar Port is the point of connection of east, west, north and east and is economically profitable.
He also asked the member states to increase cooperation in trade and investment as well as banking and financial sectors.
The Iranian official referred to the nuclear deal between Iran and P5+1, and said, lifting sanctions is a very good opportunity for boosting economic cooperation among the member states, especially in Persian Gulf region connected to Indian Ocean.
Araqchi continued that the IORA is playing an influential role in global developments.
