Tehran, YJC. Mohsen Mehralizadeh has said that he and a number of other reformists withhold their application for presidential candidacy hoping that Khatami would enter the stage.
Mehralizadeh said "The fact is that me and some Reformist
friends are waiting for Mr. Khatami, the desirable choice for the country and
the Reformists, to enter elections, in which case a lot of concerns will be lifted.”
"But,” he added "If Khatami does not resign to candidacy for
whatever reason I will definitely apply for candidacy and will do my best in
the campaign.”
Vice President of the Reform Administration stated that
meanwhile he awaits the Reformists’ consensus for candidacy, and that Khatami’s
idea will also be important in his decision-making.
Mehralizadeh said that he believes Khatami to express
himself on candidacy for the upcoming elections soon, probably even before the end
of the current week.
