Iranian deputy foreign ministers met with EU Foreign Policy Deputy Chief Helga Schmid in Vienna on Tuesday.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Abbas Araqchi and Deputy Foreign Minister for American and European Affairs Majid Takht-Ravanchi are in Vienna for the 6th joint commission meeting of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).The 6th JCPOA commission meeting was led by the Iranian deputy foreign ministers and Schmid in Vienna.
The meeting investigated Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif’s letter to the EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini sent on December 16 following extending anti-Iran sanctions by the US Congress.
The JCPOA meeting is expected to focus on issues related to JCPOA breach regarding anti-Iranian sanctions, barriers to banking and financial interactions and Iran-China agreement on redesigning Arak reactor (disputes on expense of actions and services).
A work group in charge of implementing sanctions lift was also held on Monday.
