Tehran, YJC. Remnants of the bodies of 82 Sacred Defense martyrs have been excavated in Iraq’s Basra and Maysan.
Iraqi human rights entities said on Wednesday that a number of
bodies have been identified inside the Iraqi land which belonged to Iranians who
had fought Iraq during the 8-year Iraq-Iran war.
According to Mehr news agency, Iraq’s Al Sumaria channel
quoted the Iraqi Foreign Ministry is saying that excavation operations in the
Faw area of Basra province lead to the discovery of 61 bodies 31 of which are
Iraqis, one with unidentified origin, and 29 bodies which belong to Iranians.
It adds that in Maysan province, 468 bodies have been found,
415 of which are identified with Iraqi origins and 53 bodies belong to Iranians.
