Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi stressed that serving the pilgrims of Aba Abdullah al-Hussein (as) is a great moral, human and religious duty.
According to Mawazin News, the Iraqi Prime Minister's Information Office said in a statement:
Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi traveled to Karbala on Sunday evening to hold a security meeting with pilgrims and security commanders in Karbala province.
According to the statement, al-Kadhimi said:
I am proud that today I am in the holy land of Karbala, the land of martyrdom and values, and I see this mass of believers who are facing the holy shrines of Imam Hussein and Hazrat Abbas (as).
The Iraqi Prime Minister said:
Serving the pilgrims, protecting them and facilitating their needs and providing any assistance to them is not a natural duty that you all have to do, but it is a great moral, human and religious duty.
He added:
With the cooperation and unity between the simplest citizen and the highest government official, we show the world an example of how the spiritual and religious values of Iraqis are preserved.
