The spokeswoman for the Iranian Ministry of Health, Sima Sadat Lari in her daily brief on Saturday regarding the death tolls and recovery statistics in Iran said: “from yesterday to August 8 in the country, 2,125 new patients with COVID-19 were identified."

"also, the total Covid-19 cases number reached 324,692 and among the new patients, 1,049 cases were hospitalized," she noted.

Regarding the death toll, the Spokeswoman said: "sad to say, in the past 24 hours, 132 COVID-19 patients have died, and 18,264 people have lost their lives in the country to date."

She, moreover, mentioned: "4,148 cases are in intensive care units and 2,661,965 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted in the country."

According to her, Tehran, Mazandaran, Golestan, East Azerbaijan, Ardabil, Isfahan, Alborz, Khorasan Razavi, Kerman, North Khorasan, Semnan, Yazd, Markazi, and Gilan provinces are in the Red status.

Also, Fars, West Azerbaijan, Bushehr, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Ilam, Zanjan, Hamedan, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, Lorestan and Qom provinces are on alert.
