Tehran, YJC. Mayor of Tehran says Iran can support its negotiating team while preserving its hatred toward the US.

Speaking in a conference of Iran-Iraq war martyrs’ mothers in Tehran University, Mohammadbaqer Qalibaf said "Showing support for the Iranian diplomatic negotiation team does not contradict enmity with the US. We will not forget US violence and our revolutionary hatred of it, but will also support our diplomatic negotiation team in talks with the US.”

The Mayor of Tehran added "The mothers of martyrs may know and be sure that this nation will never forget such violence as has been done to Iran. This year we have another test before us as the 4th of November which is the day to fight America will coincide with the First of Muharram. The Iranian nation will never forget its revolutionary hatred.”

"Such things do not contradict talks with the US,” he asserted, adding "with regard to the Supreme Leader’s guidelines, we stand behind the Iranian negotiation team; the nation is sure to support them unanimously; but that does not mean that we will forget our hatred of the Great Satan. This is our duty to the revolution, the country, and future generations. We will never lose our dignity.”

Recently a series of billboards were set up across Tehran which tried to challenge US honesty in talks. The billboards were quickly removed by the City Council, causing a great deal of criticism.
