TEHRAN, March 12 - Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif said Iran can meet energy needs of Pakistan.
TEHRAN,Young Journalists Club (YJC) - “I am willing to announce again that we are still ready to meet energy needs of Pakistan, including oil, gas and electricity at any volume as soon as possible,” he said in Iran-Pakistan trade seminar held in Islamabad on Monday.
He said the volume of bilateral trade exchanges between the two countries reached $1.160 billion in 2016 from $860 million in 2015, jumping by 35 percent.
Zarif continued the amount hit $982 million over last 9 months, rising by 50 percent.
Zarif said Pakistan has been Iran’s 8th exports target over past 2 months.
Iran has paid over $2 billion for Iran-Pakistan (IP) gas pipeline and is waiting for practical measures by Pakistan to comply with its commitments to the IP agreement, he continued.
He then said Iran welcomes presence of Pakistani investors and companies in Chabahar Free Zone, southeastern Iran.
