TEHRAN, February 4 - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani reiterated one more time that the country would not negotiate with any power over its defense capability.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - He said that Iran would give a tough and clear response to anyone who talks to Iran about its defense capability.
He said that the country would produce any weapons it needs to defend the country under the rules and fatwas of Supreme Leader, “But we are not after weapons of mass destruction,” he said.
“We should boost our national power. Defense power is part of national power. Political, economic, cultural and defense powers altogether create national power. Without any of them it is not possible to run the country,” he said.
Rouhani also said the US is threatening Russia with new nuclear weapons, adding that at this time no nation could say, “It is the time of peace, brotherhood and coexistence or say we do not need defense power as we did in the past.”
“We always need defense power and as long as there are threats against us, we should boost our defense power and make indigenous weapons if we can.”
