TEHRAN, December 24 - Iran’s hand-woven carpet are exported to 80 countries of the world, said Director of Iran’s National Carpet Center Hamid Kargar.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Over 3 million cubic meter of hand-woven carpet is made in Iran, two thirds of which are exported to 80 countries, he said.
Iran’s hand-woven carpet exports reached $359 million last year (March 21, 2016- March 21, 2017), raising by 23 percent comparing to similar period in the year before, he noted.
Iran has exported $269 million hand-woven carpets since first 8 months of this year (March 21, 2017 – November 20, 2017), increasing by 31 percent comparing to similar period last year, Kargar continued.
He said the amount is expected to hit $400 million by the end of this year (March 20, 2017).
The US, Germany, Italy, the UK, Switzerland, Lebanon, the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Qatar, China, Japan, Russia, Brazil and South Africa are markets for Iranian carpets, he said.
