TEHRAN, September 7 - Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif said Iran and Japan could be good partners in economic and political spheres.

Iran, Japan could be good partners in economic, political fields: ZarifTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - In a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s special envoy, Masahiko Komura here in Tehran, Zarif referred to financing Iranian energy projects and expressed hope that Japan could become a powerful partner for Iran in transfer, energy, oil and gas.

“Initial steps for this are being taken for this important issue. We believe that Iran and Japan could be good partners in economic and political fields.”

Iran is the most secure, stable and democratic country in the region and constructive interests of the two countries need more active and constructive presence of Japan, he said.

Masahiko Komura, for his part, said, “We respect the Islamic Republic of Iran because of its complying with its commitments.”

He then said that Iran-Japan credit line project is in the final phase, expressing hope that a new page could be turned in bilateral economic ties between the two sides.
