Iran, France stress political consultation on regional issues

TEHRAN, June 30, YJC - Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif who is in France met with senior officials of the country, incluidng Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian and Senate Speaker Gerard Larcher.

Iran, France stress political consultation on regional issuesTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - In a meeting with Jean-Yves Le Drian, Zarif called for more active presence of French banks in various financial fields and lifting certain banking limitations with Iran.

“France has had an important share in getting access to the JCPOA and its successful implementation,” he said.

He also said implementing the nuclear deal is in favor of all countries.

“Iran is after expanding bilateral ties with France especially in economic spheres. There required potential for production and employment of the two countries, including exports to third countries are available.”

Jean-Yves Le Drian, for his part, said his country supports the nuclear deal. “Various tools have been used for success of the deal.”

They also discussed ways to expand bilateral ties as well as regional ties and Persian Gulf developments.

In a separate meeting with Gerard Larcher, the French official extended sympathy over Tehran terrorist attack and congratulated Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s re-election.

“France attaches great importance to expand bilateral ties with Iran,” he said.

“France is willing to have continuous political consultations with the Islamic Republic of Iran on regional issues,” he said.

Zarif, for his part, called France an important trade partner with Iran.

He also called for lifting banking problems between the two countries to facilitate bilateral economic and trade ties.

Zarif welcomed continuous political consultations with France and European more active role in settlement of regional issues.
