Tehran, YJC. Dehqan has said that the Guardian Council can act with condonation in assessing Hashemi’s qualification, since he will be disqualified if the law is going to be applied closely.
Mohammad
Dehqan said "Usually people with old age have their jobs done by people around
them. In the case of Mr. Hashemi this is not possible because they have spent
some time abroad and cannot be trusted. It is problematic if affairs of the
country are going to be put in the hands of such people.”
He also
pointed to the Guardian Council’s responsibility under a lot of considerations
and said "I do not expect it to disqualify Mr. Hashemi. But as I said if the
law is to be closely upheld Hashemi will fail qualifications.”
