Tehran, YJC. Assadollah Badamchian believes that the Presence of Hashemi on the electoral scene can facilitate the Supreme Leader’s idea of optimal participation.
Ilna reports Badamchian as he took part in Mortazavifar’s funeral as "People are free to run or not run for presidency and they cannot be forced into or out of it. Hashemi must himself decide whether to run or not.”
"I think his presence does much good to the elections,” he asserted, "Hashemi’s presence can take the elections out of its brawling mood and create serious, powerful competition.”
Member of the Central Council of the Coalition Party believed that those who did not intend to vote now with Hashemi on hand will vote.
He answered rivalries concerning Hashemi’s age with "Imam Khomeini was the leader at the same age.”
He added "Hashemi’s presence will materialize the Supreme Leader’s idea of a vast public participation.”
