The United Nations Security Council is cracking down on ivory hunters and traffickers who finance armed groups in Africa in a new initiative which has been welcomed by conservationists.
The U.N. Security Council is set to authorize increased military action by France and African troops to try to end near-anarchy in the Central African Republic, which has seen an upsurge in Muslim-Christian violence along with widespread killings, torture and rapes.
Tehran, YJC. -- UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the United Nations Security Council have both strongly condemned the terrorist attacks near the Iranian embassy in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, Tuesday which killed at least 23 civilians and injured over 100 others.
