Tehran, YJC. Brother to the Supreme Leader has said that Mousavi was chosen by the enemy for his support by Hashemi and other groups.
In an interview with Fars, Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Khamenei said "Last time the enemy planed a color revolution. This time they surely will not use the same strategy. The sum of all ideas and expertise from American think tanks and their consultants, who lead the 09 sedition, seems to have lead to a new scenario.”
Khamenei said "They have introduced someone who will attract the most votes and will rather resemble them in thought. As evidence show, probably Mr. Rafsanjani is the best choice for this plan.
He added "According to the enemy, whether the person is aware or not, there are reasons for Mr. Hashemi’s priority for this plan. First is his long-held belief in relations with the US and his public statements to that effect. Second, is his bureaucratic and political position in current situations and the possibility that he will surpass the Guardian Council. Third, is the widespread propaganda by those close to him, circling around his pre-revolution record and political positions prior to the 09 sedition. Fourth, is the confidence that exists in his holding to previous stance, and support for the seditious and lack of resentment despite some equivocal statements. Fifth, is his having roots in some organizations and strata including all tribes and ethnicities, and the readiness to establish relations with some Arab sheiks and neighbors.”
