Iran-Afghanistan talks on security issues in Moscow

TEHRAN, May 24, YJC - Iran’s Secretary of National Security Supreme Council and his Afghan counterpart discussed the ways of strengthening bilateral cooperation in different areas, in Russia.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Iranian Secretary of National Security Supreme Council Ali Shamkhani, and his Afghan counterpart Hanis Atmar meet each other in the sidelines of the summit of security council secretaries from the world’s 5 continents held in Moscow. In this meeting held in Zavidovo, northern Russia, they discussed the approaches to strengthen bilateral cooperation in different areas including economy, security, fighting drug smuggling, and the affairs of the two countries nationals and immigrants.
 
Expressing his satisfaction of forming quadruple committees of joint cooperation and their assigning Iranian and Afghan heads, Admiral Shamkhani stated that with the agreement of Iran, Russia, and Afghanistan, a tripartite meeting will be held in Afghanistan with the three countries’ national security council secretaries attended.
 
 He further said that advancing multilateral agreements between Tehran and Kabul requires constant monitoring in order to deter the misconducts of the tertiary interfering countries, stressing a joint confrontation against those countries who try to cast the seeds of insecurity in Afghanistan through fostering the condition for anti-Iranian terrorist in the country.
 
 Hanif Atmar also on his part congratulated Rouhani’s re-election as Iran’s president and hoped that the relationship between the two countries flourishes in all respects.
 
 The summit is the 8th international meeting on Global Security with high delegations of security authorities from 100 countries. Iran’s Shamkhani also has been scheduled to declare Islamic Repulic of Iran’s views and stances about the crises and tensions in Middle East as well as fighting terrorism.
 
 The pivots of the two-day summit, hosted by Russia’s Federation of National Security Council, include information and cyber security and the relevant global and regional threats and challenges making crisis, and the development of practices to confront them in terms of joint collaborations of the countries attended.  
 
Accordingly the first meeting of Iran, Russia, Syria and Iraq’s security officials was held last night with more efficient integration and unity against terrorism in the region on top of its agenda.
