TEHRAN, May 22, YJC - Iran is going to hold international tender for building mini LNG plants in coming months, said Managing Director of National Iranian Gas Company Hamid-Reza Araqi.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - "Pumping gas to remote villages are practiced via CNG and mini LNG. CNG for villages with more populations and mini LNG for ones with less population,” he said.
Araqi said that Iran lacks mini LNG know-how, adding Japan, South Korea and Germany have expressed their readiness to take part in the tender.
Iran’s Research Institute of Petroleum Industry and South Korea have signed a research agreement to build a mini LNG.
He said that in case there is going to be a tender for building mini LNG plants in Iran, there needs to be an Iranian joint company to transfer of the expertise to Iranian companies.
