TEHRAN, May 20, YJC - World leaders congratulated Hassan Rouhani over his re-election as Iranian President for the second term.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Rouhani managed to win 57 percent of the votes, 23.549.616 votes, on May 19 election.
EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana congratulated Rouhani’s re-election in a message in his tweeter.
"Congratulations for Hassan Rouhani. A firm victory. Another opportunity for his country and more work which should be done for regional stability,” he tweeted.
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad congratulated Rouhani over his re-election.
"I offer my congratulations under the name of Syrian nation and myself and I am enthusiastically waiting for more efforts jointly with you to strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries and the two nations,” he said in his message.
Moreover, Russian President Vladimir Putin in his message extended congratulations and expressed his readiness for developing Tehran-Moscow ties in bilateral and regional issues.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev congratulated Rouhani’s re-election for the second term, saying that, "This victory in the election indicates the nation’s trust to you and it is an appreciation of your activities in line with developing the friendly and brotherly country of Iran and improving the nation’s welfare.”
"I attach considerable importance for boosting bilateral ties between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
He further said mutual cooperation between the two countries have been on the rise over recent years, adding Iran-Azerbaijan MoU and joint plans implemented played a key role in developing bilateral ties.
