Tehran, YJC. Member of the National Security Committee says that Iran has no intention to be in loggerheads with Israel.
Ahmad
Bakhshayesh Ardestani, providing comments on Hashemi’s recent statements about
the Zionist regime, said "It is Israel bumping heads with us. We have not
intended animosity in the first place.”
"It
has been the Zionist regime flying in our face, that is why our country has
never shied away from its principled, devotional stance,” he asserted.
He then
stated "A small part of our society enjoys beliefs such as Mr. Hashemi’s recent
belief and statement, where he intends to represent this small section. On the
other hand the constant, basic policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran has been
and will be to stay on the resistance front in the region.”
Bakhshayesh
then asserted that in Iran all are free to say what they like, adding "But in
the end the major principles of the system are defined by the Supreme Leader and
our devotional values, thus invalidating the executive aspects of uncooperative
statements.”
He also
pointed out "Such statements in current circumstances are rather counted as
campaign signals aimed at Western countries and the US so that they may support
and promote the candidate endorsed by Hashemi Rafsanjani.”
