TEHRAN, May 18, YJC - Lebanon and Iran signed two judicial agreements agreeing to extradition procedures for convicts belonging to both countries, a judicial source told The Daily Star.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - "If a Lebanese convict was in Iran or seeking refuge there, the authorities can send him back,” the judicial source said.
Regionally, Lebanon maintains similar bilateral extradition agreements with Syria, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
Justice Minister Salim Jreissati finalized the agreements with Mohammad Fathali, Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon. Judges Mary al-Maoushi and Mohammad Fawaz were present at the signing.
