Iran's first VP withdraws from presidential race in favor of Rouhani

TEHRAN, May 16, YJC - Iranian Presidential hopeful Esha’aq Jahangiri quit presidential race in favor of incumbent President Hassan Rouhani.
Jahangiri withdraws in favor of Rouhani from presidential raceTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - "We will vote for Rouhani along with you,” he said in a speech in Shiraz, southern Iran on Tuesday, adding, "I call on all reformists, principalists and moderates to vote for Rouhani,” he added.

In a statement issued on Monday, Tehran Mayor, Mohammad-Baqer Ghalibaf announced his official withdrawal from 2017 presidential elections and asked his supporters to apply all their efforts for the success of other presidential candidate Seyed Ebrahim Raeisi’s Work and Dignity Government.
