TEHRAN, May 12, YJC - Head of Iran’s Election Security Headquarters Hossein Zolfaghari reiterated that the country’s 12th presidential election would be held in a fully secure atmosphere and without any security threat.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - "Security readiness, intelligence dominance and rapid response units planning have been designed in a way to shortly and firmly deal with any move seeking disruption of order and security of election,” he said.
He said that Iranian Supreme National Security Council has been working on election security since last September and has taken many measures.
Zolfaghari noted that providing election security would continue after the election.
Election security headquarters is being held continuously in which all military, discipline and law enforcement, judiciary and Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) systems are attending, he said, adding all issues which may damage election security are watched and investigated.
Iranians will go to the polls on May 19 to elect the country’s next president. Over 56 million people are eligible to vote.
