Tehran.YJC. Tunisian PM Hamadi Jebali has announced his failure to gain support for a technocratic government to deal with the political crisis gripping the country.
The head of the PM’s Ennahda party said Monday that the only way out of the crisis would be to form a joint government of technocrats and politicians.
This just after negotiations almost broke down on Sunday, as the secular Congress for the Republic (CPR) party threatened to withdraw its ministers over their dissatisfaction with how the ruling moderate-Islamist Ennahda handled the political situation.
Although Tunisia had become the poster child for the Arab Spring for its low casualties in the turmoil of 2011, the February 6 assassination of a prominent leftist politician has again sparked anti-government riots, plunging the country into further unrest.
