TEHRAN, April 24, YJC - Iran and China’s Foreign Ministers visited each other in the margin of Ancient Civilizations Forum.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met with his Chines counterpart Wang Yi in the
margin of Ancient Civilizations Forum.
The FMs
discussed the bilateral relationships, regional and international issues, and
the Ancient Civilizations Forum itself.
Appreciating China
and Athens’ initiative to hold a meeting for the countries of ancient
civilizations,Mohammad Javad
Zarif stressed that International Community is in need of conversation of countries with ancient civilization. " it is of immense importance that the countries talk to each other in order for increasing cooperation as well as
fighting terrorism with which International Community is coping” he added.
Wang Yi also said that in order to appreciate
the civil background, it is necessary for the two countries to have
consultation and cooperation to solve the current problems of International
community through such meetings as Ancient
Civilizations Forum.
Zarif noted that Iran and China have been friends
for years of tough times and will continue their friendship. He also asked
China's more active participation in the development of the Chabahar port.
Chinese FM, also for his part,
welcomed financial support of economic projects in Iran, announcing his country’s
readiness to increase banking cooperation with Iran.
The Iranian foreign minister arrived
in Athens on Sunday on a two-day visit to attend the international forum and
hold talks with the country’s senior officials.
Officials from Greece, China, India,
Iraq, Egypt, Italy, Mexico, Peru, and Bolivia have taken part in the two-day
conference.
