TEHRAN, April 20, YJC - Iranian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on a trilateral session on Syria (Astana Process).
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - The meeting was held on April 18-19 in Tehran attended by experts of the three countries guaranteeing ceasefire in Syria (Iran, Russia and Turkey), the statement said.
During the meeting, delegations from the three countries investigated draft statements delivered to the three sides, including documents on ceasefire regime (announced on December 30, 2016 in Syria), its implementation as well as exchanging prisoners and abductees, it added.
A UN delegation attended the session as an observer and presented valuable technical discussions and support, the statement read.
According to the statement, the meeting paved the way for the 4th round of international conference on Syria scheduled to be held in Astana on May 3-4.
All delegations agreed to hold another experts meeting on May 2 ahead of the high-level conference, it added.
