TEHRAN, April 3, YJC - Archeologists in Russia have unearthed a secret spy room, dating back to the 16th century.

The small underground chamber was discovered during construction work in the capital, Moscow.

Archaeologists believe the room was originally built underneath Moscow’s former central wall and allowed soldiers to listen to conversations happening nearby.

The central wall was built to protect Moscow from Tatar and Polish raids. It was originally more than 2.5 kilometers long and comprised of 12 towers. Today, only small fragments of the wall remain.
