TEHRAN, March 13, YJC - Central banks of Oman and Iran signed a memorandum of understanding.

Earlier Secretary General of Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi met with Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Morteza Sarmadi in Tehran.
Sayyid Al Busaidi also met with Governor of the Iranian Central Bank Valiollah Seif.
The meetings dealt with areas of the bilateral cooperation to serve efforts of promoting the trade exchange and encouraging investment.
Several meetings and consultations were held between members of the Omani delegation and their Iranian counterparts in the monetary and banking sectors.
The meetings dealt means of enhancing the banking relations between the two countries, Times of Oman reported.
In this framework, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the central banks of the two countries. It was signed on behalf of the Sultanate by Hamoud bin Sangour Al Zadjali, Executive President of the Central Bank of Oman (CBO), whilst it was signed from the Iranian side by Valiollah Seif, Governor of the Iranian Central Bank.
