Tehran, YJC. Mohammadreza Bahonar has said that if Hashemi, Khatami, and/or Larijani run for elections the political positioning of the elections would alter.

Bahonar said "As far as I know neither Hashemi nor Larijani would run for elections. But we must keep in mind that nothing is impossible in politics. If these men, Khatami, Hashemi, or Larijani, change their minds and enter the scene the political arrangement will naturally alter.”

He asserted "If Hashemi comes the Reformists will continue their campaign.”

Bahonar also believed that the Reform government and especially radical figures of the movement have harmed Hashemi a lot, asserting that he was most dishonored by radical Reformists.

He also added "Hashemi is a rare phenomenon in our whole revolution. In a lot of occasions he has done great service. But real criticism is directed at him.”

"In these circumstances and regarding the 2005 and 2009 experiences as well as Mr. Hashemi’s age and situation, I think that if he campaigns he would himself become subject to criticism,” Bahonar believed.

He also asserted "Hashemi’s negative votes are as high as his positive ones. But for him to get votes would be doubtable.”
