FM Spokesman: Turkey should prevent mistreating Iran nationals in shared borders
"Turkish government should prevent repeating mistreatment with Iranians in shared borders,” he said in a press conference on Monday.

He referred to recent events in Iran-Turkey borders and said, "These are not new issues, especially after failed coup in Turkey.”

Qassemi continued that Iran has already warned its citizens to avoid unnecessary trips to Turkey.

He added that some individuals behind these issues have been dealt with by Turkish government, "But this is not enough and we are waiting more desirable conditions for our citizens in Turkish borders.”

Last Thursday, Iran’s Ambassador to Turkey Mohammad-Ebrahim Taherianfard said that Tehran will pursue the case of a video that went viral on social networks showing beating up and disrespecting for a number of Iranian nationals at Gurbulak border crossing with Iran.

"Authenticity of the video has not been confirmed yet and the case is under investigation,” the ambassador has said.

The Iranian embassies, all-over the world, are responsible to protect the rights and dignity of the Iranian nationals, Taherianfard said.

He continued that those who are to lodge complaints in this connection can do it through Iranian embassy in Turkey or any other judiciary offices inside Iran.

"Iran foreign ministry under no circumstances let disrespect for Iranian nationals in the neighboring countries and is to show proper reaction in dealing with any disrespect or beating up according to international laws and regulations,” he said.

A movie went viral showing disrespect and beating of a number of people at the Gurbulak border.

Gurbulak is a village in the district Doğubeyazıt of province Ağrı in eastern Turkey. It is a border checkpoint into Iran via Bazargan border in west of the country.

Those who shared the video claimed that the people that were subject to disrespect are Iranian nationals beaten up by Turkish border guards at Gurbulak border point near Iran’s Bazargan border crossing in Iran.
