Iranian Justice Minister Mostafa Pour-Mohammadi is visiting Baku on Thursday to discuss boosting bilateral ties between the two countries.
He will be accompanied by a high-ranking delegation and plans to meet with Azeri Parliament Speaker Ogtay Asadov and Justice Minister Fikrat Mammadov.
Pour-Mohammadi is going to discuss ways to develop bilateral ties between Iran and Azerbaijan and confer on bilateral legal and judicial agreements and pacts.
ON Tuesday, Tehran and Baku underlined the need to boost their cooperation in area of campaign against terrorism.
Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Javad Jahangirzadeh and Azeri Interior Minister Ramil Usubov in a meeting in Baku on Tuesday exchanged views on the ways to do their best to uproot terrorist groups.
Usubov noted that Tehran and Baku share similar stances towards fighting terrorism, extremism and organized crimes particularly drug trafficking.
The two officials also discussed the upcoming visit of Azeri President Ilham Aliyev to Iran in March.
The Azeri interior minister said that Iran and Azerbaijan are two friendly countries which enjoy deep religious, historical and cultural commonalities.
He reiterated that broadening of relations between the two countries will surely lead to further proximity of the two countries.
