Iran mineral reservoirs hit 57 bln tons"Iran’s mineral reservoirs reach 57 billion tons, 40 billion tons are definite and include iron ore, copper, lime and plaster,” he said.

In June 2015, Karbasian said new explorations will promote global rank of Iran among mining countries.

"Iran with the exploration of 100 thousand square kilometers is among top ten mining countries in the world and by new explorations and applying modern technologies we expect to promote our rank among top ten mining countries which own certain mineral reservoirs.”

In 2014, over 200 thousand square kilometer explorations had been started in various regions in the country.
