Iran’s National Petrochemical Company has started official talks with Total.
Iran starts official talks with Total"The talks are going to investigate and assess technical and economic issues,” said Director of Iran’s National Petrochemical Company Marziyeh Shahdaie.

"We have already signed a MoU with Total on investment in petrochemistry, and we started investigation of the cooperation and technical and economic assessment on Wednesday officially.”

The Wednesday meeting focused on overall decisions, process, and mechanism, she added.

The project has yet to finalized completely, she said, adding, the two sides discussed implementing one unit of olefin and olefin or polymeric production units in Asaluyeh as well as mutual cooperation with Total in Persian Gulf holding.

The official said that the volume of investment has not been set exactly.

She noted that the process of investigating and assessing the agreement may last 8 months.
