Secretary of Iranian Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani said foreigners are seeking regional conflicts.
"The policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran towards neighbors has always been following good neighborly, peaceful ties and maximum use of potentials,” he said in a meeting with Armenian Defense Minister
Vigen Sargsyan here in Tehran.
He also stressed dialogue and mutual understanding to settle regional ties as well as avoiding military approaches and violence, adding, "Creating and expanding regional conflicts is what foreigners are after to expand their presence and interference in internal affairs of other countries and sell their weapons.”
Shamkhani called for vigilance and cooperation of regional countries to prevent formation of these artificial crises.
The Iranian official further noted that "We do not take permission from any country or international organization to develop our conventional defense power and we will oppose to any foreign interference in defense matters including missile power of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

Sargsyan, for his part, pointed to unique position of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the region and world, and stressed his country’s willingness to expand bilateral ties with Iran.
"We are against creating any kind of tension in the region and among neighbors,” he added.
He also lauded the role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in curbing crises and creating stability.
