Iranian Deputy Minister of Road and Urban Development Mohammad Saeed-Nejad said foreign investment in Iranian ports has risen.
7 investors from European and Middle Eastern countries are attending Middle East Transportation Conference in Tehran to know more about Iran’s transportation potential, he said on the sidelines of the conference.
Saeed-Nejad noted the conference included various sessions on making investment in Iranian ports.
Iran and some countries signed MoU bilaterally on transportation in the conference.
"Foreign investors stress marine transportation and Iran is of exceptional and unique position in terms of naval transportation.”
400 million people hinterland and connection with 11 landlocked countries are unique position of Iranian ports.
He said that investors are keen to invest in Shahid Rajaie and Chabahar ports, adding Iran is after boosting technology and improving transportation market in its ports.
Iran also signed a 104 million euro deal with a European company to import 12 cranes.
