Iranian Vice President and Head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization Zahra Ahmadi-Pour said the number of tourists visiting Iran after the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) rose by 14 percent.
"We are witnessing unprecedented rise of the number of foreign visitors in Iran after the JCPOA,” she said.

The figure rose by 14 percent, she said, adding Germany, France, Italy, Russia and Holland are among European countries with the highest number of visitors in Iran.

Over 29.000 Germans and 4.000 visitors from Switzerland have traveled to Iran over the first 6 months of Iranian calendar year (started on March 20, 2016).

She noted that the rise came due to expanding bilateral tourism relations with European countries, easing sanctions on Iran, Iran’s sustainable security in comparison with other regional countries and its active diplomacy.
