Tehran, YJC. Iran has demanded Saudi Arabia to make up for the accident in which a drunk Saudi diplomat killed an Iranian.
Ramin Mehmanparast who was
speaking in his first weekly press conference of the New Year said "Saudi
Arabia must make up for damages done in the accident. As to the suspension of
the diplomat’s mission and his return also decisions will be made based on the
degree of crimes committed.”
The Spokesman of the Ministry
of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran added "The Ministry of
Foreign Affairs engaged in the case early on. In the first step the diplomat
was banned from leaving the country. The issue had to be examined by related authorities;
therefore we prepared reports by the Police and other organizations.”
Mehmanparast counted the crimes by the diplomat as "speeding,
driving while in unstable conditions, and inobservance of rules which lead to
death.”
