An Iranian official said that Russia would start building a 1400 MW power plant in Iran by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (which ends on March 20, 2017).
Iran and Russian Technoprom have signed a deal for building the power plant, said Head of Thermal Power Plants Holding Company of Iran Mohsen Tarztalab.
The equipment of the power plant would be supplied by local and foreign sections, he said, adding the power plant is expected to be built partially by Russia and some other European countries and costs $1.6 billion.
It is going to be built in 4 350 MW units.
According to Tarztalab, building the power plant needs various machinery.
He said the fist unit of the power plant would be launched 44 months after signing the financial agreement.
