Iran and Turkey are expected to sign a deal by the end of this year (March 2017) on building power plants in Iran, said Head of Thermal Power Plants Holding Company of Iran Mohsen Tarztalab.
"Nothing has happened for Unit agreement and it is expected to yield results by the end of this year,” he said regarding the agreement with Turkish energy company Unit International for building power plants in Iran.
He noted that preliminary talks of the deal have been concluded and, "We are after receiving legal permits in the second phase of the process.”
Tarztalab noted that the deal is impossible to be canceled. "This is the first foreign investment in power industry which has been concluded and all considerations should be made.”
Based on policies of Iranian Ministry of Power, all foreign agreements should be with home-made equipment, he said.
