Tehran, YJC. Boroujerdi has said that Catherine Ashton is to call Jalili on the West’s decision and the next meeting will accordingly be arranged.

Director of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Majlis said in the sidelines of the parliament’s public session that "The negotiations have been effective, as indicated by a formal announcement by Russia after Almaty II talks where they said that the talks are considered a step forward.”

Alaeddin Boroujerdi added "In this round of talks we eliminated the false inductions by US on the mind of the other members of the Six Powers, something that shows that the talks have been successful and that they must be continued.”

He further said "In the Almaty II talks we suggested that first, Iran’s right be recognized according to article IV of the NPT and second, sanctions be lifted, which they did not accept, but did not reject either.”

"They have said that they would think about it,” Director of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Majlis said, "The next round of talks is going to be held in a short notice by Mrs. Ashton in a phone call with Dr. Jalili.”

"Thus Mrs. Ashton will announce their decision and the time and place for next negotiations will be settled. This shows that they are hopeful to come at a bright spot,” Boroujerdi continued.

Boroujerdi further said that Iran might in occasions need further enrichment for certain projects and that this, being a temporary need, would be different from the basics of enrichment.

"Of course this is important that the Islamic Republic never stops enrichment. Because according to the article IV of the NPT this is a legal right which membership in the NPT has given us,” he stated.
