Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Jaberi-Ansari and Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal al-Mekdad discussed bilateral cooperation between the two countries, as well as recent developments in Syrian crisis.
Ending Aleppo battle was the result of Syrian resistance and their allies against terrorism, Ansari said in the meeting.
Ansari is in Damascus for the new round of meetings of Iran-Syria joint political committee.
He also called trilateral Iran-Syria-Turkey ministerial meeting in Moscow a ‘positive and forward step’.
Ansari urged for using the regional and international cooperation to settle the Syrian crisis politically.
The Iranian official further stressed that humanitarian and political aspects of Syrian crisis and taking the required steps accordingly.
Al-Mekdad, for his part, stressed Iran-Syria ties and noted that bilateral relations between Tehran and Damascus have gone beyond strategic translations and are ‘decisive’.
He also said that ending Aleppo battle is a historic victory for Syria and its allies, and appreciated Iran’s all-out support for Syria.
