Head of Iranian National Space Agency (NSA) Manouchehr Manteghi said Zafar (Victory) satellite would be designed and built by next year (which starts on March 2017).
As to obtaining the first position in the region in space by Iran, he said the issue is of various aspects, including scientific and academic activities.
Iran stood in the world's 11 place in terms of aerospace certificates in 2015.
He noted that Amir-Kabir remote-sensing satellite and Nahid (Venus) telecommunications satellite are in the phase of testing, and would be launched into space soon.
He noted that Dousti (Friendship) satellite is a remote-sensing one whose building has been accomplished and is ready to be launched into space.
