TOKYO - Toyota Motor Corp.'s Aqua hybrid became the top-selling car in Japan in fiscal 2014, maintaining the top spot for the third consecutive year, industry bodies said Monday.
Aqua sold 228,375 units in the year ended last Tuesday, down 12.1 percent from fiscal 2013.
Daihatsu Motor Co.'s Tanto minicar ranked second, selling 214,865 units, up 19.0 percent, according to the Japan Automobile Dealers Association and the Japan Light Motor Vehicle and Motorcycle Association.
