TEHRAN – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has outlined the priorities of the Sixth Five-Year National Development Plan (2016-2021).
Special attention has been paid to the growth of productivity in the plan, the IRNA news agency quoted Management and Planning Organization chief Mohammad Baqer Nobakht as saying on Saturday.

The Leader has instructed the Expediency Council to review the plan and finalize it for implementation by executive bodies, Nobakht added.

The plan has set a target of three percent productivity growth in the third year of implementation, he noted.

"Economic growth requires both investment and productivity,” he said, adding that the sixth national development plan will be in line with the economy of resistance.

He went on to say that the growth of productivity with the goal of attaining the first place in science and technology in the region by 2021 is of high importance.

"However, despite the Leader’s emphasis, the administration has not been fully successful in materializing the goal of economic growth. This issue should be analyzed.”
