Tehran, YJC., member of Iran’s negotiation team, has praised talks in Montreux as more progressive than previous talks.
Deputy Foreign Minister in Legal and International Affairs Seyyed
Abbas Araqchi said that although the Montreux talks have been constructive,
there are differences to resolve.
He added meanwhile that "both sides at the moment have a
better understanding of the issue.”
The senior diplomat added that a political decision would be
made after discussing the technical issues as "sometimes technical talks offer technical
solutions which help the process of political decision-making.”
"However, the more difficult decision is to be made by the
other side and it is whether to continue imposing sanctions or to look for an
agreement,” he added.
Araqchi further said that Iran’s principle in talks is to
remove all sanctions.
"Although there exist some prominent political and legal
sanctions, we are working on all kinds.”
Araghchi, pointing to the 4-day intense negotiations in
Montreux, stated: "we did more progress this time, and both sides are now aware
of the differences and all details. However, still we have a long way to go.”
