Tehran, YJC. The Commander of Iran’s Naval Forces Habibollah Sayyari met Kazakh Deputy Minister of Defense Mokhtarev.
Habibollah Sayyari, Iranian Navy Commander who is in
Kazakhstan, met Kazakh Deputy Minister of Defense General Mokhtarev to discuss
the capacities of Iran and Kazakhstan in expanding and developing defensive
cooperation.
The Kazakh defense minister pointing to Iran-Kazakhstan
close and developing relations, underlined the importance of multidimensional
cooperation between the two neighbor countries in order to fight terrorism and
extremism and to peacefully resolve regional concerns.
The Iranian official, for his part, pointed tothe role of
Iran and Kazakhstan in preserving the peace and security in the Middle East and
described the Caspian Sea as a body of peace and friendship which holds the
surrounding countries together.
He also assessed the relations between Caspian Sea littoral
countries as prominent in preserving the security and preventing the foreign
intervention, stating that Iran is ready to cooperate fully in fields of
training, technical issues, and exchanging experiences.
Sayyari has been
holding negotiations with his Kazakh counterpart, Gen. Zhanzakev, and is
scheduled to speak at National University of Kazakhstan, visit ship building
industries, and the Kazakh navy bases in Caspian Sea.
