Tehran, YJC. A number of Iranian lawmakers have prepared a bill asking to investigate the performance of the Environment Department in dealing with dust storms.
Dust storms have
lately turned into a controversial issue across Iran as they hit western Iran,
Khuzestan province in particular.
The lawmakers
found fault with the department’s chief Masoumeh Ebtekar, stating that she
engaged in party propaganda instead of dealing with the problem.
Mohammad Said
Ansari, Abadan representative to the Majlis said that the department’s
performance has not been satisfactory at all.
The lawmaker noted:
We have prepared and handed the draft to the board of directors of the
parliament in a bid to defend people’s rights.
